Chocolate Martini

For the chocolate/cocktail lover, the chocolate martini is the ultimate dessert or after dinner martini. The trick to this cocktail is the quality of the chocolate. Most commercial chocolate syrups taste waxy, or harsh. To make an over-the-top chocolate martini, use quality chocolate. I also recommend using vanilla vodka. The vanilla adds that extra note that really makes this concoction sing. I also recommend using two chocolates, a chocolate liqueur, and Baci's "Fine French Fudge". The result is a slightly creamy cocktail with a perfect balance between the vanilla vodka and the chocolates. Of course, the chocolate swirl around the martini glass is the show stopper. Presentation, after all, is everything.

Chocolate Martini Recipe

1 Ounce Vanilla Vodka

1 Ounce Baci "Fine French Fudge"

1 Ounce Chocolate Liqueur

1 teaspoon Baci "Fine French Fudge"

In a cocktail shaker with a cup of ice, combine equal parts vanilla vodka, and both chocolates. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds, and serve straight up in chilled martini glass. To add the chocolate swirl, dip a teaspoon into Baci's "Fine French Fudge" then, while slowly rotating your martini glass, allow the French fudge to drizzle off of the spoon into the bottom of the glass. Work your way from bottom to top. For a little extra eye-candy, decorate the rim of your martini glass by slightly dampening the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a plate of sifted cocoa powder, sprinkle the cream with shaved bits of chocolate on top, and serve! Salut!
